Who is Plastonix?

Plastonix is a plastic recycling technologies company and change agent to the plastic recycling sector. We discovered a new technology for recycling/repurposing plastic that viably processes all current non-recyclable plastic waste. We do not own or operate any plastic recycling facilities ourselves.  Instead, we operate like a franchise.  We partner with manufacturers and industrial organizations in the USA, India, and beyond to create profitable new business models using our technology. We then help them design and build their facility, supply them with the equipment, sell them the materials they need to process the discarded plastic into a new type of raw material that can be repurposed into a durable good or blended back into petrochemical liquids, and charge a licensing fee for the use of our IP.

The Missing Piece within the Recycling Sector

After over 30 years of recycling, the USA still only recycles around 4% of discarded plastic each year.  And globally, the recycling rates are not much better at 9%. There must be significant issues within the plastics recycling sector preventing a greater proportion of discarded plastics from being recycled.  Plastonix believes there is a “missing piece of the puzzle” preventing the plastic recycling sector from moving beyond such a low recycling rate.

Plastonix believes the plastic recycling sector requires a new technology that processes:

• all plastic types
• all plastic regardless of its condition, be it soiled, deteriorated, or saltwater saturated
• two or more types of plastics and plastic blends together at one time
• without use of or creating toxic chemicals or VOCs
• plastic without sorting it or cleaning
• without a high amount of heat or energy use
• plastic back to a useful state
• by lessening the complexity of the entire workflow
• at an economically viable price point with low barriers to entry

Furthermore, Plastonix believes this Missing Piece MUST…

• Introduce discarded plastic into a circular system and be economically viable regardless of type, additives, contamination, or condition. This is very complex.

In short, a new plastic recycling technology must lessen the complexity and expense of the entire process.  Ideally, it must increase the efficiency within the sector and reduce costs. The recycling industry has not found a cost-effective way to do this at scale.  This is the plastic recycling sector’s “Missing Piece”

It’s time to reimagine plastics recycling. Existing plastic recycling technologies do not provide a viable method to address the global plastic waste crisis and never will. The Plastonix recycling technology eliminates many of the issues that define the existing plastics recycling industry.  And in so doing, Plastonix redefines plastic recycling and becomes the “missing piece of the puzzle” that will move the plastic recycling sector beyond a 4% recycling rate within the USA and 9% globally.
